MAISON ROSE

La Maison Rose is one of Ras Beirut’s most recognizable landmarks. Built around 1880 by Mohammad Ardati as a hunting lodge, the mansion is distinguished by its rose-pink façade and late Ottoman architectural details. Over the decades, it housed notable residents including Dr. Arthur Dray, American painter John Ferren, and designer Sami El Khazen. Later acquired by Hisham Jaroudi, the house was carefully preserved and restored. La Maison Rose opens its doors to host Licensed to Forget, a student exhibition curated by Teymour Khoury, Yasmina Mahmoud, and Karl Abi Karam, exploring Beirut’s endangered architectural heritage through research, drawings, and models.
