COLLECTIBLE DESIGN EXHIBITION

EXPORTABLE(S)

Introducing EXPORTABLE(S), a design exhibition curated by Joy Mardini and William Wehbe, co-founders of Babylon – The Agency. Through Babylon, Mardini and Wehbe have built a curatorial practice around bringing together some of the region’s most compelling design voices, creating encounters between objects, places and audiences. Their exhibitions look beyond the object itself, using design as a way to reveal what a city, a region and a generation have to say. Set against Beirut’s identity as a port city, shaped by movement, exchange, arrival and departure, EXPORTABLE(S) proposes a shift in perspective: Beirut not as a peripheral design market, but as a Mediterranean node, connected to a wider geography of ideas, objects and people. A tightly curated selection of regional and international designers has been invited to create under a precise set of constraints - volume, weight, value and mobility - turning the very conditions of export into a creative framework. At its core, one question: What does it mean for an object to be ready to depart?

BIOGRAPHY

Joy Mardini and William Wehbe are the co-founders of Babylon – The Agency, a multidisciplinary consultancy that is part curator, part connector, and part instigator. Bringing together Mardini’s expertise in curation, collectible design, and cultural strategy with Wehbe’s background in architecture, urban design, and cultural entrepreneurship, they champion designers, build unexpected collaborations, and create exhibitions that spark new conversations and opportunities. From Beirut to the international stage, their work is driven by the belief that design is more than something to admire — it is a language that shapes culture, challenges assumptions, and travels beyond borders.
